Lionheart: Tactics

Lionheart Tactics was is a character-collecting, tactics game more for mobile platforms using the Unity engine. Released in 2014.

Role: Environment Artist (only one again)
-worked with Design to ensure the layout worked for gameplay
-worked with Narrative to ensure the landscapes fit their story
-concepted the scenes myself
-modelled and textured assets/props
-placed/composed everything in the scene
-lit scenes
-prepared scenes for export
-ensured we were within budget

I didn't get to work on this project for very long unfortunately, but it was the first one I worked on with Emerald City Games, and its potentially still my favourite (its a close-run thing between that and Dark Moon). I hoped for ages that we'd do a remake of this.

I did all the modelling, texturing and lighting here; I was the only environment artist for the longest time after all. This was for mobile, so very low-poly, and long enough ago that all we could use were hand-painted diffuse maps and baked lightmaps. Was lovely to work on though. There's something special about having a little stage that you can rotate around 360.

Using 3dCoat for painting was a pleasure as well. As good as ZBrush feels for sculpting, 3dCoat felt for painting.

Throne Room for whatever kingdom the main character belongs to. It was such a long time ago.

Again, all low poly and hand painted with one diffuse map.
